Annette Funicello did not only sing or act, but also performed. She is best remembered as being one of Mickey Mouse Club's original Mouseketeers. The singer began her singing career when she was a teenager, and later became famous for her hit tracks "Tall Paul" as well as "Pineapple Princess." Annette was raised in Utica with parents who were Italian immigrants. Her shyness was evident as a young child. To make a name for herself in the entertainment business, she began to dance and play. In the mid-1950s, she was featured in a number of Disney sketches as part of one the "Mouseketeers" and gained considerable fame. Annette changed her Disney image as her age increased and she began to take on adult characters. Annette was renowned as one of the very first actors to pioneer"beach parties" and the "beach party" genre. The actress was featured in movies such as How to Stuff a Wild Bikini, Pajama Party, and 'Beach Party.' The singer also released her albums with music periodically. Annette was diagnosed with MS in 1992. She died due to the condition in 2013.
